New to PRIDE CHOIR?

What do you need to know to join? Whether you sang in your college a cappella group or you've never read a note of sheet music in your life, you're welcome here. Whether music has always been part of your life or you're just looking for a reason to sing again, you're welcome here. There are no auditions to sing with Pride Choir, and no minimum skill level to meet. You just have to want to be here.

Walk-ins are welcome starting at our first rehearsals beginning August 30 at 2pm at Union Congregational Church, 176 Cooper Avenue, Montclair, NJ (There is no rehearsal on 9/6/26). Just bring yourself, give us your name and email, and we'll have sheet music ready for you. You're free to keep coming through early September before making any decisions. You do not need to register if you are new to the group and just checking us out. If you plan on attending a rehearsal, please email info@pridechoir.com to let us know to expect you! After your first rehearsal, we'll follow up with the Member Guide and Participation Agreement so you have everything you need to decide. You have through September 27 before signing anything or paying anything.

Pride Choir is an LGBTQIA+ space, and singing membership is open to anyone who identifies as part of that community. Allies are a vital part of our extended community, and we'd love to have you involved as a volunteer, audience member, or event supporter, just not as a singer.

Season 4 Registration

New this season is a formal singer registration period. To help us plan rehearsals, repertoire, and staging with confidence, we're moving to full-season registration instead of open, ongoing sign-ups. Registration opens August 1 and closes September 27, 2026.

What registration includes

All singers who commit to performing in Season 4, both new and returning, will complete an onboarding packet (Google Forms) that includes a participation agreement, emergency contact form, liability waiver, media release, and a few other basics. It's simple and mostly completed online. You'll find links to our Season 4 Calendar, Member Guide, and Singer Participation Agreement inside the registration form so you can review them before completing your onboarding packet. The Member Guide covers everything about how Pride Choir works: rehearsal expectations, attendance, community care, how decisions get made, and more. It's not a rulebook. It's a shared reference that helps everyone start from the same place.

Participation fee

Beginning this season, Pride Choir has an annual participation fee of $100, which helps cover sheet music, musicians, concert production, insurance, and administrative expenses. Season 4 is pay-what-you-can, with no minimum and no judgment. If the fee is ever a barrier, a private, no-questions-asked waiver is available within the registration form. No reason required, no documentation, completely confidential. The payment link can be found within the onboarding packet Google form. The $100 standard takes effect in Season 5, and the waiver will remain in place.

After you register

Once you've completed registration and your onboarding packet, you'll receive a welcome email with access to the Season 4 members-only site, where you'll find digital sheet music, rehearsal materials, and more (please allow 24-48 hours). We'd love for everyone to be fully registered before our first rehearsal so you have everything you need going in.
